Igor Tudor decided to do something unexpected after being informed by Tottenham Hotspur that his services were no longer required.

The calls to sack Tudor had reached a fever pitch after Tottenham’s 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, and the club finally made the inevitable announcement regarding the Croat on Sunday.

The 56-year-old leaves Spurs after just 44 days at the helm, having picked up just one point in his five Premier League games in charge.

Tudor famously guaranteed that Tottenham would survive in his first press conference at the club last month, but he leaves the Lilywhites on the brink of relegation disaster.

Igor Tudor has walked away from Tottenham without a payoff

Tudor signed a five-month contract with Spurs, but the deal has been terminated in just a month and a half.

However, it has now been revealed by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook that Tudor has walked away from the club without a payoff for the remaining time on his deal.

Crook does not make it clear if Tudor is the one who turned down a payoff or if a clause allowed Spurs to sack him without a payoff.

Spurs want a replacement for Tudor through the door quickly

Bruno Saltor has remained at Tottenham despite Tudor’s exit, and the former Chelsea coach will oversee training at Hotspur day for the time being.

According to Alasdair Gold, Spurs are expected to confirm a replacement for Tudor within the couple of days before their players return from international duty.

The club want the newcomer to have 10 days to work with the squad before they make the trip to Sunderland on April 12.

It now looks increasingly likely that the new Tottenham manager will be Roberto De Zerbi.
