Tottenham fans think they have a ‘new Darren Anderton’ on their hands after latest injury news

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have voiced their collective frustration following reports that Destiny Udogie could be set for another spell on the sidelines ahead of the crucial Premier League trip to Molineux.

It is fair to say that Tottenham Hotspur have had to deal with their fair share of injuries this season, as several stars have been out at different points in this campaign.

However, with the season run-in now in full swing, the injury crisis appears to be easing significantly as the number of sidelined players has dropped from a peak of 13 to single figures.

Ahead of the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, Spurs Web reported that Roberto De Zerbi could be without just five players due to injuries, but that number could potentially have gone up by one following the latest reports.

Tottenham fans react as Destiny Udogie remains injury doubt for Wolves fixture

It is believed that Destiny Udogie is now a doubt for this weekend’s game at Molineux. It remains unknown what the injury is or the extent, but given the full-back’s track record on the injury front, it is not entirely surprising.

Udogie has just returned from a spell on the sidelines and has been key to Tottenham’s tactical setup on the left, but he could now be out. All eyes will be on Roberto De Zerbi’s press conference later this week.

Tottenham fans who have caught wind of the latest reports have now given their reaction, and many are losing patience with the full-back, with calls for him to be moved on this summer.

One fan said: “Needs to be sold. Hardly ever fit.” Another added: “He’s always an injury doubt.” One more commented: “Yea sell bro after this season please.” Someone even said: “Think it is time to sell him whatever league we are in next season”

another stated: “I do not rate him anyway to be honest. What does he offer? I would be rid of him whatever league we are in. So unreliable and really we are judging him from his first season with us”

One more commented: “Genuinely wonder if it is mind or body at this stage. Being fit to play is part of football and I, rightly or wrongly, doubt his professionalism.”

Another highlighted Spurs’ depth at full-back: “Davies is too old, Spence is an RB, Udogie is usually crocked and Souza is 19 with 4 starts.🥴 And the geniuses that run the club apparently think signing a 32-year-old Andy Robertson is the solution?”

A final fan stated: “Get rid, he is the new sicknote, he has taken that from Darren Anderton 🤣🤣🤣”

Djed Spence could replace Destiny Udogie as Spurs face Wolves without key man

Destiny Udogie has definitely had his struggles since he joined Tottenham back in 2023, with injuries often keeping him out during the course of a season.

He is a top full-back given his ability to invert and hold the width, but such quality is rarely at the disposal of Spurs for long periods, as he has not gone a season without being sidelined.

If he is out for the Wolves game, then Roberto De Zerbi will have to turn to Djed Spence, but there is a question over how that will affect the balance of the team.

Spence is not left-footed, and that often leads to him cutting onto his preferred foot before crossing, which could affect the dynamics on the left. It will be interesting to see how De Zerbi adapts this weekend.
