A new report has explained what the likely outcome is in Tottenham’s pursuit of a striker in the January transfer window.
Over the last few weeks, an increasing number of outlets have suggested that Spurs are looking to add a number nine to their squad in January.
Tottenham have been installed as the favourites to land Dusan Vlahovic, who is thought to be looking for an exit route from Juventus.
Some sources have also suggested that Fabio Paratici wants to bring Porto striker Samu Aghehowa to Spurs, with the Spain international reported to have a £87m release clause in his contract.

Tottenham are not likely to sign a striker in January
However, Football Insider are reporting that Spurs will struggle to add a suitable number nine to their squad in the mid-season transfer window.
It is explained that in an ideal world, Thomas Frank’s men would like to bring a centre-forward through the door, but there is an acknowledgement that it is notoriously difficult to do business in January.
The most likely scenario is that Spurs will not be able to bring in a striker, and Frank would thus have to get the best out of Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel until the club reassesses next summer.
One Spurs man can thrive under Thomas Frank
There seems to be almost a quiet acceptance from the majority of the Tottenham fan base that Dominic Solanke is not at the required level.
However, the centre-forward managed 24 goal contributions last season (16 goals and eight assists) despite spending a decent amount of time on the treatment table and lacking sharpness when he returned to action in the final couple of months.
In his first interview as Spurs head coach, Frank named Solanke as one of the players he is looking forward to working with the most, backing the centre-forward to score a lot of goals this season.
The England international is elite off the ball, and he thrives at getting on the end of crosses. He thus appears to be a perfect fit for Frank’s style of play.
