Tottenham fans will hate what two senior stars did after final whistle against PSG

Two of Tottenham’s stars, who played all 90 minutes against Paris Saint-Germain, have come under the scanner for what they did after the final whistle.

Despite seeing his side fall to a 5-3 loss, Thomas Frank admitted that he was pleased with the response he saw from the Tottenham players against PSG, following the North London derby debacle.

The Dane praised the aggression that his side played with and suggested that they could have taken a point from Parc des Princes had they got a bit of luck.

However, Frank may not be pleased with what two of his senior men did following the final whistle.

Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur did not applaud the travelling Tottenham fans

At the end of the game, Frank and the Tottenham players walked over to the travelling Spurs fans to thank them.

They got a round of applause from the supporters, who were evidently pleased with the efforts and performance of the players despite seeing the side fall to their first Champions League loss of the season.

However, a video posted by Chris Cowlin on YouTube shows that Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur did not walk over to the Tottenham supporters and instead headed straight down to the tunnel.

This was also confirmed by some Spurs fans who were at the Parc des Princes, who revealed that Romero simply applauded from the halfway line before heading into the changing room.

Spurs fans would have expected better from Romero

The last thing Frank would want is for the post-match behaviour of his senior players to become the talking point once again, following the controversy surrounding Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence a few weeks ago.

Romero was uncharacteristically poor against PSG, making several unforced errors, a couple of which led directly to the home side’s goals.

While the Argentine would have been frustrated with his own performance, as captain, one would have hoped that he had fronted up to the fans rather than avoiding the situation and heading straight into the tunnel.
