Tottenham fans will like Harry Redknapp’s Xavi Simons prediction vs Aston Villa

Harry Redkapp believes that it will be a tight contest when Aston Villa visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The focus shifts back to Premier League action following the international break, with the Lilywhites welcoming Aston Villa to North London.

The Villans come into the game in food form, while Thomas Frank has admitted that Tottenham need to improve at home.

His side certainly faces a big test against Unai Emery’s men, who Redknapp does not think are playing at their best yet.

Harry Redknapp predicts Tottenham to edge out Aston Villa

Redknapp admits that he has been impressed with what he has seen of Spurs under Frank, especially defensively, and suggested that anything is possible if they can build on their good start.

He backed Tottenham to edge out the Midlands side on Sunday, suggesting that Villa are still not playing as well as they can this season.

The former Spurs boss told BetVictor: “It’s been the perfect start at Spurs for Thomas Frank, and if they can keep this form up, you never know! The new signings are settling and getting better and better and they look much more organised at the back.

“Villa have two wins in a row and will travel here with a little bit more belief. They’ve got a decent record against Spurs, but I still don’t think this side are anywhere near playing at their best.”

Prediction: Spurs 2-1 Villa.

Redknapp picks Spurs’ summer signing as the player to watch

A lot of Spurs fans will be eagerly waiting to find out what the starting lineup is against Villa after Thomas Frank claimed that he knows what the strongest Tottenham eleven is during Friday’s press conference.

The Spurs boss previously said that Xavi Simons produced his best performance of the season against Leeds, and Redknapp expects the Dutchman to make the difference on Sunday.

When asked to name his player to watch for the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the 78-year-old responded: “I do like the look of Xavi Simons. He shows some moments of real class and quality.”
