Tottenham legend Heung-min Son admitted that it felt like a homecoming to be back at the stadium where he is loved and adored.
Heung-min Son was the special guest for Tottenham’s Champions League clash against Slavia Prague, with the former Spurs captain watching on from the director’s box as the Lilywhites emerged comfortable 3-0 winners.
Son addressed the fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of kick-off and was presented with a special award by another club legend, Ledley King.
The 33-year-old was also seen catching up with many of his old teammates after the final whistle.

Heung-min Son admits Tottenham will always be special to him
As expected, the forward got an outstanding reception by the home fans, many of whom had taken their seats 15 minutes ahead of kick-off to catch a glimpse of their beloved superstar.
Son has now taken to social media to admit that he had wanted to return to say goodbye since he left in the summer. He confessed that the love and the support he has received from Spurs fans will stay with him forever.
Son wrote on Instagram: “Coming back here and being with you all last night is one of the things I’ve been longing to do since leaving in the summer. As everything happened so quickly, I never got to say the proper goodbye that I wanted to, which is why I am so grateful to have come back yesterday.
“By now, you know how special this club is to me and what you’ve all done to make me the player that I am, and that is something that will stay with me forever. See you all again soon, Sonny.”
Spurs newcomer wants to carry on Son’s legacy
Xavi Simons, who is the new owner of the number seven shirt, had an opportunity to meet Son for the first time yesterday.
After picking up his second Man of the Match award in a row, Xavi admitted that he is keen to carry on Son’s legacy at the club.
If the Dutchman can achieve even half of what the South Korean did at N17, the £51m Tottenham paid for him will be money well spent.
