Sean Dyche has been linked with the Tottenham job, and this is what he once said about the platform at Tottenham to become the club.
Sean Dyche is now being linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job, and it is no surprise given that Spurs are currently embroiled in a relegation scrap.
The former Everton boss has formed a reputation as one capable of keeping teams afloat and helping them stay safely above those dreaded dotted lines.
Spurs find themselves in that very position and could be forced to pull the trigger on Igor Tudor, who has struggled since he was appointed interim Tottenham manager.

Sean Dyche once spoke about Tottenham platform to become ‘THE club’
An interview involving Sean Dyche from a few seasons back has now surfaced, with the then Burnley manager labelling Tottenham as “the club” following Jose Mourinho’s appointment in 2019.
Speaking in the interview, as relayed by Burnley Express, Dyche discussed the opportunity Mourinho had when taking charge in north London and suggested Tottenham possessed the platform to become one of the leading clubs in the game.
“Most people consider them a nearly club, so it’s his chance to make them THE club, or certainly push to that,” said Dyche. “The last one where he did that would probably be Porto.
“There’s a platform at a club like Tottenham to attempt to do that and take it to the level that everyone thinks.
“And if you think about it everyone will go ‘no-one’s quite made it to be THE club’, although it’s got all the makings of it. I could see why that’s attractive to him.”
Sean Dyche left in admiration of Tottenham facilities
Reports have since surfaced that Dyche is not keen on taking any short-term roles, and that is a big blow for Tottenham, who will be looking for an interim manager before going for a permanent appointment in the summer.
In the same interview, Dyche was quick to praise the facilities at Tottenham, speaking in admiration of what the club have built.
Asked if he was at all surprised by Mourinho’s appointment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Dyche added:
“He has lived in London for a long time, that might be a factor. It’s a fantastic new stadium, a young side still developing – or mostly young. (Jan) Vertonghen and people like that are a bit older and wiser, if you like.
“They’ve had a very strong academy there over the years – and I know he has been questioned about that, but I am sure he has enough about him to know good players, whether they are young or old.
“So no, it did not surprise me. They have an amazing training ground. I have not been through the building, but I have been down there, and it is absolutely amazing. Top of the top training ground. If you look at all those ticked boxes…”
