Roberto De Zerbi has issued a rallying cry to his Tottenham squad ahead of their Carabao Cup round‑two clash against Charlton Athletic, urging them to deliver a win.
Tottenham Hotspur had not tasted defeat since May until they took to the pitch in the Premier League last weekend.
The Lilywhites came up against Brentford in a London derby and were well beaten 3-0 by Keith Andrews’ side.
That defeat leaves Spurs 19th in the Premier League table and, given their relegation battle last term, it is a spot they will be desperate to avoid this campaign.

Tottenham are expected to turn their attention away from the Premier League briefly as they begin their Carabao Cup journey on Wednesday with a clash against Charlton Athletic.
With it being a different competition, Spurs now have the opportunity to bounce back from their weekend thrashing.
Ahead of the cup tie, Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has demanded a win from his side as he calls for a change in mentality at Spurs.
Speaking to football.london, he said: “For me it is like the Premier League. We are not in the position to make differences. We need to get used to winning the matches.
“We have to change the mood. We can because we already did last season. Six games, three wins, two draws and one defeat to Chelsea.
“I heard last season we cannot win the game because the last game we won was in December. I think the environment has to change, the players inside and the people inside have to change this mentality.
“It is a challenge. When I said we have to become a team it is about this. The quality of the players we had enough of against Brentford to do much better.”
Spurs must avoid complacency against in-form Charlton
Tottenham simply have to guard against complacency as they take to the pitch against Charlton Athletic.
A slow start will certainly be punished, similar to how Brentford made Spurs pay for a lacklustre first half at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Championship side are in good form, having won their last three games, including a victory over West Ham United in their last outing.
Of course, they will fancy their chances of walking away with a result at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday if Spurs give them even a sniff.
