Tim Sherwood believes that Tottenham Hotspur could have really done with the help of one talented youngster in the midst of their relegation battle.

Igor Tudor has walked into Tottenham Hotspur at a time when they are ravaged by injuries and are just five points clear of the relegation zone.

The Croat has barely any wingers at his disposal at Spurs at the moment, but one young Tottenham academy winger is turning a lot of heads with his performances on loan.

Mikey Moore is now consistently producing the goods for Rangers after a difficult start to his spell at Ibrox, with the 18-year-old demonstrating why many at Hotspur Way rate him so highly.

Tim Sherwood claims Mikey Moore could have been handy for Tottenham this season

A lot of Spurs fans will be excited by the teenager’s growth this season and will hope he can compete for a starting berth back in North London next term.

However, Sherwood believes that Moore could have been a very useful player for the Lilywhites this season had he remained at the club.

The former Tottenham interim head coach had a chance to quiz Rangers podcaster Martyn Ramsay on Sky Sports News, and he said: “Tell me more about Moore, a lad I keep a close eye on because he’s on loan from Tottenham.

“I believe he should be at Tottenham now, as an opportunity to give him some game time. People would argue with the fact that we are in a relegation battle, but I don’t think he would let you down more than any of the signings they have made.”

Moore praised for being ‘fearless’ at Rangers

Tottenham fans will be very encouraged by what Ramsay said about Moore in response to Sherwood’s question. He revealed that the 18-year-old is mentally very strong and does not shy away from demanding the ball even if things are not going his way in a game.

The Rangers podcaster said about Moore: “He has grown a lot in the last few months. He is fearless. I don’t want to see him disappear at the end of the season, but I can well understand if Spurs want him back because he is not daunted by any situation.”

“He wants the ball, wants to try things. If it doesn’t come off, that does not get his head down. Quite often, fans have actually said, ‘bring him off, he has done nothing’, and then he does, cos he just has that kind of self-confidence.”
