The date and time of Tottenham’s trip to Newcastle United for their Carabao Cup fourth round clash has now been annnounced.
While Tottenham’s focus has shifted back to the Premier League and the Champions League for the time being, the club will resume Carabao Cup action in October.
Thomas Frank has said that he wants Tottenham to be competitive on all four fronts, and the Dane is still looking to win the first major trophy of his career.
He will want his side to give the Carabao Cup a real go, but the Lilywhites have to pass a tough test to reach the fifth round of the competition.

When Tottenham will face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup
Following their 3-0 win against Doncaster Rovers last Wednesday, Tottenham were drawn away at Newcastle in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Frank would have ideally wanted an easier draw, with St James’ Park having been a tough hunting ground for the North Londoners of late.
It has now been confirmed that Spurs will make the trip to Tyneside on Wednesday, 29 October, with the game set to kick off at 8 pm.
The match will be broadcast live in the UK with both ITV and Sky Sports selecting the fixture.
Why Thomas Frank has to field a strong team against Newcastle
Several Spurs players have said they are hungry to win more trophies after tasting Europa League success back in May.
Frank will also know that he will be under pressure if he does not win silverware in his first couple of seasons, given what his predecessor achieved.
The Carabao Cup represents Tottenham’s best chance of winning a trophy this season, and the Dane would thus be tempted to name a strong side, even though the clash comes at an extremely busy period for his side.
There is one sticking point, however, with Tottenham set to host bitter rivals Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just three days later in the Premier League on November 1st.
