Tottenham Hotspur are pressing ahead with a move for Jean-Matteo Bahoya and have now discovered Eintracht Frankfurt’s asking price for the winger.

Some sources have indicated that Spurs are expected to sign two wingers this summer, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to add more attacking thrust to his squad.

One of those is a highly-rated France U21 international, whom the Lilywhites have kept a keen eye on.

It was first reported by TEAMtalk earlier this month that Tottenham had expressed an interest in Jean-Matteo Bahoya, with the London club believing that the 21-year-old’s pace and dribbling could be key to unlocking defences.

Tottenham are in talks with Jean-Matteo Bahoya’s representatives

A new report in Bild (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now shed light on Bahoya’s future, with the title of the report saying: ‘England attack for Eintracht Frankfurt star’.

The report mainly discusses Tottenham’s desire to sign the versatile attacker, claiming that the Lilywhites have already held discussions with the player’s representatives.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are said to be ‘serious about Bahoya’ as they look to add quality to their frontline ahead of the Italian’s first full season in charge.

However, it is made clear that Frankfurt have not received any official bid for the winger, nor have Tottenham managed to secure an agreement on personal terms with the 21-year-old.

Eintracht Frankfurt have dropped its asking price for Bahoya

Bild say that the Frenchman could be on his way out of Frankfurt as the Bundesliga club needs to raise funds to balance its books.

Internally, the German club valued Bahoya at around €70m (£60.3m), but they realise they can no longer demand that price after a drop in his performances last season.

The winger only managed four goals and four assists from 37 matches last term, and Frankfurt are thus expected to settle for €35m-€40m (£30.2m-£34.5m) for the youngster this summer.
