Tottenham find out when rescheduled Leicester PL fixture will be played

Tottenham Hotspur have now been informed by the Premier League that their postponed fixture against Leicester City will be played on Wednesday, January 19 wth kick-off taking place at 7:30pm at the King Power Stadium.

While Tottenham endured a COVID-19 outbreak within their first-team squad last month, the Leicester fixture was actually postponed due to positive tests within the Foxes camp.

Spurs had seemingly been coming out the other side of their own problems, while Leicester had suffered an increasing number of absentees due to Coronavirus.

While the Premier League rejected Leicester’s first request for a postponement, when the Foxes suffered more positive tests on the morning of the match, the decision was taken to pull the plug.

Spurs will now have to face the former Premier League champions on January 19 (7:30 pm), wedged nicely between fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea.

This should certainly make for an interesting week for Antonio Conte as he looks to compete in three big games.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It already feels as though one of those games is going to have to be sacrificed a little in terms of effort levels or squad rotation. Having the strongest XI fight it out against three big opponents in seven days would be a huge ask.
