Tottenham Hotspur have been hit with a fine and have been warned by UEFA for three incidents during their Champions League round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid.
Tottenham lost 5-2 to Atletico Madrid in the first leg at the Metropolitano Stadium after a horror start, which saw them go 4-0 down within 22 minutes.
Antonin Kinsky was hauled off after just 17 minutes by Igor Tudor after making multiple errors at the start of the game in what proved to be a chastening evening for the Lilywhites.
Tottenham did save face with a 3-2 win in the second leg, which they hoped would be the start of a turnaround, but Tudor was dismissed just a few days later after overseeing a 3-0 loss at home against Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham fined £10,000 and given a warning by UEFA
Football.London reveal that European football’s governing body have charged and sanctioned the North London club for three incidents that occurred during their 5-2 loss in the first leg.
Tottenham received five yellow cards in Madrid, and UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body decided to warn them over their “improper conduct of the team”.
Additionally, Spurs have been fined 10,000 euros (£8,656) for causing a late kick-off at the Metropolitano Stadium. The delay in kick-off has also seen Tudor receive a warning.
Roberto De Zerbi remains confident Spurs can escape relegation
The Tudor appointment proved to be a disaster for Spurs, who decided to bet the house on De Zerbi by handing him a five-year contract.
While there have been plenty of positives in Tottenham’s two performances under the Italian, they have only one point to show for their efforts and find themselves two points adrift of safety.
However, De Zerbi saw enough in Spurs’ display against Brighton to be confident that his side can stay up, with the 46-year-old even asserting that the Lilywhites are capable of winning all five of their remaining matches.
