Tottenham first team will now take to the field at new stadium before Palace fixture

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino wants his side to train in their new £1 billion stadium before their first match there on April 3 against Crystal Palace (Daily Mail).

Spurs are holding two test events over the next couple of weekends, the first featuring the under 18 side, and the second a legends game.

However, Poch would like his first team to get familiar with the new stadium and new pitch in between these events.

Spurs have been playing on the Wembley turf for almost two years now, and it could take some adjusting to get used to a new surface and new size pitch.

Pochettino also had his first team train at Wembley way back in 2016 before they made the move to the national stadium.

It is unclear when they will visit the ground for a training session, but the Daily Mail have suggested April 1 or 2.

Poch will likely replicate a match day scenario with his squad by arriving three hours before kick off and conducting pre-match team meetings before training.
