Tottenham forward admits he is ‘lacking end product’ but will ‘keep grinding’

Troy Parrott has taken to social media to express his delight at MK Dons maintaining their winning streak against Bolton but he admitted that he has to improve in the final third.

Parrott has operated as a number ten for the Dons over recent months and showcased his exemplary vision and technique.

The 20-year-old set up Connor Wickham’s winner in the Dons’ 2-1 win away at Sunderland a week ago, which was his fifth assist of the season to go with the four goals he has netted (Transfermarkt).

He once again put in a fine performance as Liam Manning’s side turned over Bolton 2-0 on Saturday and strengthened their credentials to push for promotion to the Championship.

However, the Spurs academy graduate has not found the back of the net since the Dons’ EFL Trophy defeat at home to Aston Villa’s Under-21 back in October.

Manning told the League One club’s official website last week that he has been pleased with Parrott’s contribution and insisted it is only a matter of time before the floodgates open for the striker in front of goal.

Here’s how the striker reacted on social media after helping Dons to a win over Bolton:

The response from the Dons fans to that tweet tells you all that you need to know about how well Parrott is playing. There are certainly similarities between the 20-year-old and a younger Kane, in terms of technique and intelligence. Despite his lack of goals, Spurs will be happy with the way Parrott is getting on at Stadium MK.
