Troy Parrot got a goal and an assist as Excelsior Rotterdam emerged 3-0 winners over Heerenveen at home on Saturday.
After failing to set the world alight in his loan spells at Millwall, Ipswich Town, MK Dons and Preston North End over the last few years, Parrott is now finally living up to his potential, having seemingly come of age as a footballer at Excelsior.
The 21-year-old has led the line impressively for the Eredivisie side all season, with his contribution yesterday taking his tally to six goals and three assists in 15 league appearances so far this season.

Another goal and an assist for Troy Parrott
With 18 minutes gone on the clock, Parrott picked the ball on the left flank and drove at the Heerenveen backline before producing a fantastic low-cross with his left foot, which was turned home by Couhaib Driouech.
The on-loan Tottenham man then himself got on the scoresheet six minutes later as he showed good anticipation to pounce on a poor back pass and calmly slotted it under the onrushing goalkeeper.
Spurs Web Opinion
While these goals will do wonders to Parrott’s confidence, the reality is that the quality in the Eredivisie (especially outside the top four or five teams) is quite poor, arguably a good deal worse than the Championship.
Spurs fans should not be getting carried away as the jury is still out on whether Parrott is good enough to be a regular at the Premier League level.
