Tottenham confirm pre-season fixture against cup champions

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will face one of England’s domestic cup winners during their pre-season trip to South Korea as a part of the 2025 Coupang Play Series.

Over the past couple of months, we have been slowly and surely learning about Tottenham’s pre-season schedule, with the Lilywhites set to play some high-profile friendlies.

Spurs have confirmed they will be playing Arsenal in Hong Kong this summer, which will be the first North London derby played outside UK soil. The fixture is scheduled for Thursday, 31 July 2025 at the newly opened 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium.

Tottenham will face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena as a part of the Telekom Cup after the Bundesliga club featured in a friendly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer.

Tottenham will face Newcastle United in South Korea as part of pre-season

Spurs announced two weeks ago that they take part in the 2025 Coupang Play Series in South Korea, which will be the third time in four years and the fifth time overall that the Lilywhites have travelled to the East Asian nation.

Tottenham are the best-supported club in the country, owing to the superstar status of their captain, Heung-min Son, and the Korean fans will get a chance to see their heroes in action against a top-quality Premier League opposition this summer.

Tottenham have confirmed that this season’s League Cup winners, Newcastle United, will be one of their opponents in the tournament this summer, with details regarding the date, venue and tickets to be announced in due course.

Ange Postecoglou’s admission about Tottenham’s mistakes last summer

In his last press conference of the season on Sunday, the Tottenham head coach made a very interesting admission about the club’s preparations ahead of last season.

Ange Postecoglou confessed that Spurs made mistakes with the way they approached last pre-season and he vowed to learn from his mistakes and put things right this summer.

The Australian was presumably referring to the workload on the players, but it remains to be seen if he will get an opportunity to rectify his errors, with Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham still up in the air.
