Tottenham Hotspur have been named as one of the leading contenders to sign a promising young Greek striker, but the Lilywhites are also thought to be facing a lot of competition now from fellow Premier League sides.

Tottenham are fans of 19-year-old striker
The player in question is striker Stefanos Tzimas, who is dominating Bundesliga 2 this season, with nine goals and two assists in 15 league games for Nurnberg.
It was first reported a couple of months ago that the teenager’s impressive displays at the Max-Morlock-Stadion had brought Tzimas to the attention of Spurs.
It subsequently emerged that Tottenham may have to battle several Premier League sides for the player, but a fresh update has now thrown a real spanner in the works.

A long queue of clubs now ready to pounce on Stefanos Tzimas
A new report from BILD (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now revealed that Spurs are ‘still keen’ on Tzimas, with Nuremberg eyeing up a sale at the end of the season.
In fact, the outlet gives the North London club a ’30 per cent chance’ of landing the teenager in the summer window.
The reason the chances are low is because as many as 18 other clubs across Europe are now alleged to be keeping an eye on Tzimas’s progress.
This includes the likes of Aston Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Liverpool, West Ham and Manchester United, who have all expressed an interest in the Greece Under-21 international, thus making the pursuit complicated for Spurs.

Why Tzimas cannot be signed in the current transfer window
If you are wondering why Spurs cannot bring forward their plans and sign Tzimas now, given their injury situation, it is because he is on loan from PAOK for the rest of the season.
Nuremberg have an €18m (£15.2m) option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, which they are expected to activate.
In fact, BILD claim that the German side are putting plans in place to activate the option and immediately sell the young centre-forward on for a sizable profit in the summer. That is seen as ‘the smart solution’ at the club.
