Antonin Kinsky – The Czech international made his first start of the season for Tottenham, and his first real test did not arrive until late in the opening half, when he produced a fine save to deny Doncaster from a volley inside the box. 7.
Pedro Porro – Doncaster started brightly in the opening forty-five minutes and created a few half-chances, but Porro produced an important block to prevent a shot on target. 8.
Joao Palhinha – Partnering Danso at the back, but his standout moment was a fine acrobatic finish inside the box after reacting sharply to a loose ball from a Tottenham corner. His second goal for the club. 8.
Kevin Danso – A first start for the Austrian, who will be pleased to have helped keep a clean sheet in the first half. In the absence of Bergvall, he has offered an attacking threat from long throws. 7.
Djed Spence – Given a more conservative role on the night and had little to do offensively. Doncaster has not troubled him much down his flank. 7.
Archie Gray – Deployed in his preferred midfield role rather than at centre-back. He has kept things tidy in possession and has not shied away from driving into the box, often linking up well with Johnson. Tested the Doncaster goalkeeper around the half-hour mark with a strong effort inside the area. 7.5.
Rodrigo Bentancur – A composed and professional display in midfield. Kept Tottenham ticking with his passing, occasionally dropping deeper to aid the build-up and open lanes for the centre-backs. He had a good chance from a corner but headed wide. 7.5.
Xavi Simons – Started the match brightly and saw plenty of the ball early on. His influence faded slightly, though he remained a threat with his set-piece deliveries. 7.
Wilson Odobert – Back-to-back starts for the Frenchman, and he claimed an assist, albeit via an own goal. Direct and willing to take on his man, which ultimately forced Spurs’ second 7.
Mathys Tel – The Frenchman spurned a good chance to give Tottenham an early lead after Brennan Johnson fizzed in a dangerous cross across the goal. Failed to anticipate, and the chance went begging. 6.
Brennan Johnson – The Wales international combined well with Archie Gray on the right flank and looked to deliver crosses into the box. He created a big chance for Tel early on, but the centre-forward failed to convert. 6.5.
