Tottenham half-time player ratings vs Man United as 4/10 duo struggle at both ends

The half-time whistle has blown between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the Premier League, and the player ratings are in.

Tottenham half-time player ratings vs Man United

Guglielmo Vicario Manchester United barely threatened the Spurs goalkeeper, but in what was their first attack of the game, Mbeumo headed home. Nothing Vicario could have done about it. 5.

Pedro Porro The Spanish full-back was tasked with marking Mbeumo, whom Spurs were linked with during the summer. The Cameroon international did grab a goal after Porro lost him at the back post while ball-watching. 4.

Cristian Romero Has not had to do much defending in this game so far. Tottenham, however, have seen loads of the ball, and each time Romero has had it at his feet, he has looked positive, always seeking to play forward passes. 5.

Micky Van de Ven Tottenham managed just two corners in the first half, but van de Ven did not meet any as they were overhit. No dazzling run so far either, but he has been solid at the back alongside Romero. 5.5.

Djed SpenceA quiet opening forty-five for the England international, who has not been threatened much on the left of Spurs’ defence. Amad Diallo did put in a cross from his side of the pitch, and neither Spence nor Richarlison did enough to put pressure on the ball. 4.

Joao PalhinhaThe only one in the pivot today. The Portuguese midfielder has made a few key tackles and interceptions. He also gets his head on United’s long goal kicks, helping with his height. 6.

Pape Sarr The Senegalese midfielder produced a really fine block to keep Tottenham level in the half when Cunha got the better of Cristian Romero and shot from Spurs’ box. 5.5.

Xavi Simons If Tottenham are to create consistently, then they have to find this man more often. Simons has, however, seen the ball a few times in the pockets behind United’s Casemiro and Fernandes, but he has not done much with it in transition, often holding onto it for too long. 5.

Brennan Johnson Picked up a needless yellow card in the first half. Johnson has also seen little of the ball, nor has he had any clear-cut chances. He did put in a tantalising delivery into the box, only for Richarlison to fail to get his head on it. He has also not looked after the ball well in the final third, often taking heavy touches or over-hitting his passes. 5.

RicharlisonHad a good opportunity to test the United goalkeeper at least after Johnson floated in a cross, but the Brazil international failed to make contact. It is a fluid frontline that also sees Richarlison occupying the central areas. 5.

Randal Kolo Muani Ever ready to press and has looked to do just that. However, as has been the case for most of the season, Tottenham often struggle to bring their strikers into the game, with Muani being the latest to experience this. No shots from the striker. 5.
