Tottenham handed boost in pursuit of rumoured high-profile target

Tottenham Hotspur haven’t signed a player in over 15 months, but the club will surely invest heavily this summer transfer window.

The Daily Star claim that Pochettino will be given £100m over the window, a sum he will spend on four key players, Youri Tielemans, Jack Grealish, Ryan Sessegnon, and Malcom.

Spurs have just been handed a boost in their pursuit over the latter of these names, as AS report Barcelona are keen on selling Malcom to a Premier League club.

Malcom has not enjoyed the dream move he may have been hoping for at Barca, racking up just 23 appearances for the Spanish giants this season, scoring just the four goals.

Tottenham have been credited with interest in the player for some time now (talkSPORT), even pre-dating his £36.5m move from Bordeaux to Barcelona (BBC).

The Express claim Barcelona will want the full amount they paid for Malcom back in any transfer deal.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Barcelona think they can buy a player, barely play them for a year, and then sell them on for the same high price, they have another thing coming. If Tottenham can bag Malcom for £20m-£25m then they should go for it. Any more than that and I would say there are better options out there, particularly as Spurs already have Son and Moura on the wings.
