Tottenham Hotspur have received a timely injury boost ahead of a crucial run of fixtures, with positive news emerging regarding Destiny Udogie.

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealing with several injuries in multiple positions since the turn of the year.

In fact, heading into their clash with Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield, 13 players remain sidelined for Spurs, significantly limiting Igor Tudor’s options.

The interim Tottenham boss had claimed that Spurs are not lucky with injuries after Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha clashed heads in the tie against Atletico Madrid, but there appears to be some respite.

Spurs now seem to have been handed some good news on the injury front, with Destiny Udogie said to be nearing a return.

Speaking to football.london about the condition of the full-back, Tudor explained that the defender will miss the weekend’s clash but should return in time for the all-important game against fellow relegation rivals Nottingham Forest.

The Tottenham boss confirmed the update while discussing the current state of his squad and the timeline for Udogie’s recovery.

Spurs boost despite defensive absences before Liverpool clash

Udogie has been sidelined since Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat against Manchester United, where he picked up a hamstring problem.

His return now serves as a big boost for Spurs, who will again have a natural left-footed full-back on their flank, which should help improve their attacking play.

While this comes as good news, Tottenham are still expected to miss several players in their clash against Liverpool.

Tudor has since confirmed that both Joao Palhinha and Cristian Romero are out, while Micky van de Ven is serving a suspension following his red card against Crystal Palace. Conor Gallagher and Yves Bissouma are also doubts for Sunday.
