Tottenham have a preference in race for Radu Dragusin and it might not be Roma

The race for Tottenham centre-back Radu Dragusin’s signature is now intensifying, and the Lilywhites have a clear preference.

Dragusin’s agent has hinted that a move away from Spurs is very much on the cards this month for the defender, who has now overcome his ACL injury.

It was previously reported that AS Roma are leading the race for the Tottenham defender, but they now have competition to deal with from Germany.

Over the last 24 hours, we have heard that RB Leipzig have entered the race to land Dragusin, thus complicating Roma’s pursuit.

What is RB Leipzig’s stance on Tottenham centre-back Radu Dragusin?

It has now been revealed by German journalist Philipp Hinz that the centre-back was offered to the Bundesliga club by Spurs last summer.

The North Londoners have once again offered the 23-year-old to Die Roten Bullen this month, but no offer has been made by Leipzig. In fact, Ole Werner’s men are not holding any negotiations with the Lilywhites over Dragusin at the moment.

Leipzig have only held internal discussions regarding the former Girona man, with their interest yet to materialise into anything concrete.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the German club’s interest is something Roma should be concerned about.

He says the Bundesliga side are very much in the race and could become a genuine alternative to the Serie A side for the Spurs defender.

Di Marzio further reveals that Leipzig would be able to land Dragusin permanently, while Roma are only willing to sign him on loan with an option to buy in the summer. This may give the East German side the upper hand, with Spurs preferring a permanent sale.
