Journalist Ben Jacobs has now shed more light on Al-Nassr’s failed approach for Emerson Royal, explaining that Tottenham have refused to name an asking price to the Saudi club.
On Sunday morning, it emerged out of the blue that Emerson was the subject of shock interest from Saudi Arabia.
It was The Sun’s Tom Barclay who broke the news that Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr had seen a bid knocked back by Tottenham for the Brazilian.
Barclay explained that the 24-year-old, who has showcased his versatility over recent months by filling in at centre-back and left-back, is happy at the North London club, but he suggested that the Saudi Pro League side could return with a second offer.

Tottenham have not named price for Emerson Royal
Jacobs has now taken to social media to reveal that Al-Nassr’s opening offer for Emerson, which was turned down by Spurs, was worth €25m (£21.4m).
Jacobs further explained that Tottenham did not give the Middle Eastern club any specific price that they would accept for the right-back during the current window.

The fact that Tottenham have not named a price suggests that they have no intention of losing Emerson mid-season, particularly since it is not going to be easy to find a suitable replacement in January.
Having said that, if Al-Nassr do return with an offer of around £30m-£35m (which seems unlikely), Spurs might be tempted to accept it.
