Tottenham have one in, one out as Ange Postecoglou delivers injury update

Angle Postecoglou has provided an injury update ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s second-leg Europa League round of 16 clash against AZ Alkmaar.

Tottenham Hotspur know exactly what is at stake this Thursday against AZ Alkmaar. Anything short of a victory would see them crash out of the Europa League, a scenario they will be desperate to avoid.

The tie is set to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs previously edged out Alkmaar with a narrow 1-0 victory in the League-phase round of the competition.

That result will give them some confidence, but they will be well aware that this is an entirely different test.

Tottenham’s injury situation ahead of AZ Alkmaar clash

Ahead of the game, Spurs have received a much-needed injury boost. Dominic Solanke, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero all got valuable minutes under their belts in the recent 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.

With Solanke, Van de Ven and Romero expected to be available on Thursday, there is optimism within the camp. However, Radu Dragusin remains sidelined with an ACL injury and is certain to miss the tie.

Dejan Kulusevski is also set to be absent as he continues to struggle with a foot injury. Meanwhile, Richarlison remains a doubt, with no clear timeline for his return.

Ben Davies, on the other hand, could make a return to the squad, offering Spurs another potential boost in defence.

Mikey Moore, who played a pivotal role in Tottenham’s League-phase victory over Alkmaar, has missed the last four matches and his involvement remains uncertain.

Ange Postecoglou confirms Kevin Danso injury

Speaking ahead of the match, Ange Postecoglou addressed the injury concerns surrounding his Tottenham squad, particularly those of Kevin Danso and Ben Davies.

Spurs Web reported this morning that Danso picked up a suspected hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, just as Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven made their returns.

He told football.london: “Kevin Danso got a hamstring injury in the last game so he’s out. Ben is back in. So that’s the only change from the weekend. Everyone else got through the game.”
