Tottenham have Vanderson on transfer list but don’t expect movement yet

A full-back, who has been linked with a switch to Tottenham this summer, is expected to be available for a cut-price deal, but it has now been revealed by transfer market expert, Pete O’Rourke, that Spurs will only move for the player if they lose one of their big names.

Over the last couple of weeks, Pedro Porro has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, with Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Barcelona credited with an interest in the right-back.

According to some sources, the Spurs man is also on Manchester City’s radar, but it has been asserted over recent days that it would take an eye-watering offer to prise Porro away from Tottenham.

Amidst the speculation over the Spaniard’s future, it has been suggested over recent weeks that Spurs could enter the race for Monaco’s Vanderson, and Pete O’Rourke has now revealed what he knows about the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the Brazilian.

Tottenham will only make a move for Vanderson under one condition

O’Rourke has said that Vanderson will be allowed to leave for a fee of around £25m this summer by Monaco and confirms that the 23-year-old has been on Spurs’ radar for a long time.

However, the journalist claims that the Selecao star is not seen as a priority signing by the Lilywhites, who are only expected to push ahead with a move for him if they lose Porro.

When asked if there is truth to rumours of Tottenham’s interest in Vanderson, O’Rourke has now told Football Insider: “Obviously, he’s been a target for Tottenham in the past. He’s been a target for several other Premier League clubs as well. A lot will be dependent on the future of Pedro Porro.

“He’s impressed at Monaco, a Brazil international, and a number of Premier League clubs have been looking at him over the years. He’s still got three years left on his contract at Monaco, and Monaco will be demanding a decent fee of probably £25 million to let him go.

“Tottenham, now with Champions League football, will be looking to strengthen their squad and will have money available. So I’m sure he is somebody who is still on their list, but I don’t think he’s a priority right now.”

Tottenham may face competition from two European giants for Vanderson

Earlier this month, it was claimed by UOL that Barcelona and Tottenham may go head-to-head for Vanderson’s signature this summer.

It was pointed out in the report that Monaco would prefer to sell the right-back to Spurs over the Catalan giants as the different tax laws in Spain and England would mean that they lose out on 15% of the transfer fee if the player moves to La Liga.

However, the North London club could also face competition from a domestic rival, with GiveMeSport claiming two weeks ago that Man United could challenge Spurs for Vanderson this summer.
