Tottenham hope to open part of new build this weekend

Tottenham Hotspur have been behind schedule pretty much since the start of the new stadium build, but it finally looks as if they are shaping up towards a grand opening.

Spurs were originally hoping to open the new ground on September 15 against Liverpool, but delays relating to the fire safety systems put a stop to this.

Ever since then, Tottenham have been playing their home fixtures at Wembley, their home of last season.

Spurs have made their joint-best ever start to a Premier League season this campaign, and currently sit two points off the top.

The Evening Standard are now reporting that Tottenham hope to have their new megastore completed and opened by this weekend.

No confirmation is expected until Friday, but the largest football retail space in Europe will sure to open soon.

Work still continues on the 100 person auditorium within the shop, which will show pre-match entertainment on matchdays.

The Tottenham Experience will also be home to a museum, archive and visitor centre, all of which should open next year.
