Tottenham Hotspur are open to signing Mathys Tel permanently in the summer but interestingly, it has been revealed by a reliable source that the North London side are not willing to activate their option to buy the forward.
Tottenham have a £45m option to buy Tel from Bayern Munich at the end of his loan spell this summer, but the forward is yet to really showcase his quality in a Spurs shirt.
He has only scored twice his move in January, one of which came from the penalty spot last week in the win over Southampton, and the forward currently finds himself out of the club’s first-choice starting eleven.
However, despite this, some sources over recent weeks have indicated that Tottenham are very pleased with Tel’s attitude and see enormous potential in the teenager.

Tottenham will try to sign Mathys Tel on a discount
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now backed up what has been reported about Tel in the British press, claiming that Spurs are ‘happy’ with the 19-year-old.
However, he says that the Lilywhites have not yet made a final decision on the Frenchman but they have no intention of meeting the buy clause stipulated in the loan agreement.
Instead, the journalist explains that the Premier League side will try to renegotiate a discounted deal with Bayern for Tel. He adds that Bayern are pushing for the sale of the forward, who has no future at the Allianz Arena under Vincent Kompany.
Bayern Munich are reliant on getting a fee for Tel
This update from Plettenberg comes just a couple of weeks after Bild reported just how desperate the Bavarian side are for Spurs to sign their player permanently.
The outlet explained that Bayern are reliant on the Tel fee to sign a backup to Harry Kane, with the German club’s financial situation not allowing them to make signings without selling players first.
