Harry Kane completes move to Bayern Munich

Spurs fans thought they had a glimmer of hope that Kane would remain in North London when Sky Sports reported that the England captain was leaning towards seeing out the upcoming season at his current club, however, it proved to be not the case with a move to Bayern Munich now sealed.

Kane leaves his boyhood club, having scored 280 goals across all competitions, in 435 appearances in which he eclipsed the legendary Jimmy Greaves to take his place as the top marksman in Tottenham history (transfermarkt).

The 30-year-old’s last appearance came on Sunday when he scored four goals in the 5-1 win against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Losing Kane was never going to be easy, he is the club’s record goalscorer and a modern legend of the game. However, one small shred of consolation is that he will not be lining up for another Premier League side next season.

Kane called on for Spurs for many years to show ambition and prove the club is moving in the right direction, ultimately, he was let down. The timing of the deal on the cusp of the campaign also leaves a sour taste in the mouth; if Daniel Levy and co haven’t already wrapped up a deal for Genk’s Gift Orban, we are making yet another huge mistake.
