Tottenham Hotspur cost West Ham £200k in stadium colour changes

One of the stranger stories of the week, West Ham look set to spend around £200,000 on changing the colour of their stadium perimeter.

The Hammers are said to be worried that the blue material running around the London Stadium bears resemblance to the navy of Tottenham.

The former Olympic Stadium formerly had green plastic covering the athletics track during West Ham matches, but the club wanted the colour of this cover changed.

While they were successful in lobbying for this minor tweak, they now fear that the plastic provided is far too close to the navy blue of their fierce London rivals Tottenham.

Desperate to avoid issues with fans, especially after the demonstrations of last season, West Ham are now said to be willing to spend £200,000 on changing the colour of the plastic.
