Eagled eyed Tottenham Hotspur fans have noticed that there is an upcoming fixture on the official website which states that the new stadium will be the venue for an upcoming Premier League match.

Supporters who have visited the fixture section of the website have pointed out that the visit of Watford on Wednesday 30th January is listed underneath ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’.

Tottenham have already confirmed that matches up until January 13th will be held at Wembley Stadium when Manchester United are the visitors.

This game is followed by two away fixtures at Fulham in the league and a Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea.

The club are preparing to update supporters further regarding the stadium’s progress during the week commencing January 7th, after receiving a status report from contractors.

Before the new stadium can be opened for a competitive match, they must first hold two test events at the 62,062 seater venue in order to achieve a safety certificate.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. You guys really need to keep up. This has been happening all season until they announce if a game is at Wembley. I’ve no idea why this is suddenly being brought up again. The Chelsea game in originally said Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I’d expect a bit more from a Tottenham blog.

  2. There is now way on earth DL would open the new stadium on a weekday game, he will want the full fanfare, ceremony etc etc……. plus they still have to announce two big test events yet. I will have a stab, with LCFC on the 10th Feb, possibly Newcastle the week before, I reckon Spurs will want the CL tie vs BVB at the new stadium, just in case we progress.
