Tottenham Hotspur Stadium set to stage major sporting event

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are set host a major sporting event later this year after it was revealed by Sky Sports that boxing champion Anthony Joshua’s next fight against Oleksandr Usyk will be held in North London.

The fight is expected to take place in September and it is yet not known how many spectators will be able to attend.

The venue was set to hold a host of events over the past twelve months with the coronavirus pandemic causing them to be either cancelled or re-arranged for a future date.

Joshua was originally scheduled to fight Kubrat Pulev in a heavyweight bought in June of last year, but had to be rescheduled for December at the SSE Arena in which Joshua knocked out his opponent (Spurs official).

The NFL have already confirmed they will play two games at the stadium in October when the Atlanta Falcons will play the New York Jets on Sunday 10 October, while the Jacksonville Jaguars take on Miami Dolphins on Sunday 17 October in regular season NFL clashes.
