Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tipped to hold one of the biggest sporting events within five years

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has made a confident comment about what he expects to happen in the future, and it directly involves Tottenham Hotspur.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium plays host to two NFL matches per year, being the only stadium outside North America that is purpose-built to host the sport.

The tie-up with the NFL is part of the reason why Spurs represent such an attractive investment opportunity for many across the globe.

Some experts have suggested that, given the revenue streams that the North London club have built, ENIC may value Tottenham much higher than the figures being reported in the media.

The latest comments made by Jerry Jones perhaps shed light on why the North London club’s stadium could be an even bigger asset over the coming years.

Super Bowl claim made about the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The Dallas Cowboys owner has underlined his support for the idea that the Super Bowl, which is the final showpiece game of the NFL season, could be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In fact, Jones is confident that the Super Bowl will be played outside the United States within the next five years.

When asked if he could one day see the Super Bowl being played outside America at a venue such as Tottenham’s home ground, he told Sky Sports “Without question. There’s no doubt in my mind that’s on the table, and I would be willing to bet that in the next five years it happens. The world is their oyster where games go.”

NFL’s expansion plans represent good news for Spurs

In their report, Sky Sports point out that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell recently underlined the aim to reach 16 international games per season.

By the end of October, London will have hosted more than 42 regular-season games, many of them at N17.

If the NFL do greenlight more games internationally, it is expected to directly benefit Spurs, with the club’s stadium having become the home of the NFL in the UK.

In fact, reports over recent weeks have even suggested that ENIC would be willing to sell Spurs to an NFL owner, which would make the club a bigger combination of sporting assets.
