Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to host additional NFL event next month

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will next month host another NFL event after it was confirmed that the International Combine will take place in North London.

The event is designed to discover and evaluate potential NFL talent from around the world where as many as 50 athletes will be selected to participate in a series of tests in front of NFL evaluators at the stadium on October 12.

Following the event, the chosen athletes will be invited to train in the United States for a three-month period, where some of those selected will link up with an NFL team for the 2022 campaign.

It will be the third time in which the NFL have hosted an international scouting combine, having previously held similar events in Australia in 2018 and in Germany in 2019.

Tottenham agreed a ten-year partnership with the NFL in 2015 for two games per year to be played at their state of the art venue which includes a retractable grass field with an artificial surface underneath that would be used for NFL games, along with dedicated dressing room facilities.

After what has been a tough time for the club financially during the coronavirus pandemic, further exposure of the club’s stadium can only be a good thing, especially if they are looking to secure a stadium naming rights partner.
