Tottenham identify new left-back target after failed Andy Robertson pursuit

Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attention to another Premier League left-back after missing out on Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.

This January has been the busiest of transfer windows for Tottenham Hotspur, but they have completed two signings, including Brazilian left-back Souza.

Despite securing the promising 19-year-old, Spurs were also interested in Andy Robertson, but Liverpool have prevented the Scotland international from departing for North London.

However, Tottenham still want to sign another left-sided defender, with Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies both remaining out with injuries.

Tottenham are considering Hugo Bueno bid

According to Team Talk, Tottenham could look to get over the disappointment of missing out on Robertson by launching a bid for Wolves defender Hugo Bueno.

The Spaniard could leave his current club in the summer, as he is determined to continue competing at the highest level. In fact, Bueno is attracting significant interest, with several clubs keen to swipe him from the Premier League relegation scrappers.

Everton have been identified as one of the teams interested in the 23-year-old, who rejected a loan move to Rangers last summer.

Spurs could still sign Andy Robertson

While Spurs continue to consider their left-back options, there are rumours that Robertson’s move to Tottenham could still take place. This is possible so long as Roma secure a replacement for Konstantinos Tsimikas, who is currently on loan there from Liverpool.

If Tottenham do manage to bring Robertson to Hotspur Way before the conclusion of the transfer window, any interest in Bueno is likely to fade away, at least for now.
