Tottenham in talks with Serie A club about January loan for highly-rated starlet

A Serie A club are now locked in talks over a deal for a Tottenham Hotspur youngster, who is yet to feature under Thomas Frank.

Apart from Brennan Johnson’s high-profile sale to Crystal Palace, the Lilywhites have also pushed through a couple of loan deals in the first week of the transfer window.

Kota Takai has joined Borussia Monchengladbach on loan for the second half of the season, with the Japanese defender leaving Spurs without making a single appearance for the club.

Yang Min-hyeok has been recalled from Portsmouth and loaned out to Coventry City, which came as a surprise to many Spurs fans, and another youngster could soon be on his way out.

Jamie Donley, Manor Solomon, and Oliver Irow have also been sent out on loans to Oxford United, Fiorentina, and Mansfield Town, respectively.

Tottenham could loan Callum Olusesi to a Serie A club

Journalist Alfredo Pedulla has revealed on his official website that Torino are in talks with Tottenham over a deal for academy midfielder Callum Olusesi.

Olusesi made his senior debut for Spurs last season in the Europa League, but has not featured at all under Thomas Frank.

Pedulla says that Kristjan Asllani, who is on loan at Torino, is set to return to his parent club, Inter Milan, and the Turin club have identified the Tottenham youngster as a replacement.

Torino are now locked in talks with Spurs over an initial loan deal for Olusesi, which could include an option to buy.

Why Spurs are unlikely to grant an option to buy for Olusesi

The midfielder is only 18 years of age, and he is impressing for the youth sides, with four goals and three assists in 12 outings across all competitions this term.

It is worth remembering that Olusesi also featured for Tottenham during pre-season after Thomas Frank’s arrival.

It thus appears that the central midfielder is highly thought of at Hotspur Way, and it would come as a surprise if Spurs include an option to buy in a loan deal for the teenager.
