Tottenham in three-horse race for £52m Premier League star with a hat-trick this season

Tottenham are big fans of a Premier League winger, who has nine goal contributions this season, but they have to battle two other clubs for his signature.

It has been widely reported that Spurs are tracking a number of wingers across Europe as they look to add more firepower to their forward line before the transfer deadline.

Several of those are players who ply their trade in the Premier League, including one Brentford wide-man, who Thomas Frank knows well.

It was reported earlier this month that Tottenham are closely watching Kevin Schade, who Frank previously backed to evolve into a top-class player.

Frank’s prediction appears to have come true this season, with Schade taking his game to a new level at the Gtech Community Stadium and even earning a recall to the German national team.

Journalist Mark Brus has now confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are in the race to land the Brentford star, but he revealed that the 24-year-old is also wanted by Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Brus wrote in The Daily Briefing: “Tottenham really like Schade after watching him for some time, but the feeling now is that Newcastle and Villa will also be in the mix.”

Is Schade a realistic target for Spurs this month?

CaughtOffside have relayed Brus’ information, and they have added what their own sources have said about the Bees star.

They claim that the West London club are not entertaining any offers for Schade mid-season despite contacts being made by interested clubs.

The publication says that Brentford may change their stance in the summer, but they are expected to demand around €50m–€60m (£43.3m-£52m) for the pacy winger.
