Tottenham’s former scout, Mick Brown, who remains well connected with those who work at Hotspur Way, is confident that Spurs will be looking at signing Tyler Dibling in the summer.

Tottenham could not sign Tyler Dibling in January
Tottenham did add more firepower to their frontline with their acquisition of Mathys Tel in January, but they were unable to secure the services of another teenager they were really keen on.
The player in question is Southampton star Tyler Dibling, who has impressed one and all since breaking into the Saints side at the start of the campaign.
It was reported that the Lilywhites were extremely keen on adding the winger to their squad but decided against the move as they were put off by the South Coast club’s asking price of £55m.

Mick Brown thinks Tottenham move for Tyler Dibling is inevitable
Mick Brown does not have any doubt that Ange Postecoglou‘s men will reignite their interest in the England Under-21 international when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
He suggested that Spurs may be able to land the winger for a cut-price fee if Southampton go down and claimed that the player might see Tottenham as the ideal platform to play regular football and take his game to the next level.
When asked about Tottenham’s interest in Tyler Dibling, Brown told Football Insider: “I think he’s one player they will be looking to sign. They’ve been watching him this season, and if they think he’s good enough to improve upon what they’ve got, then he could join the other young players they have.
“They’ve got Mikey Moore, who they have a lot of faith in so they’ll have to consider whether his pathway into the first team might be blocked. But that’s something they’ll speak about with the manager and come to a conclusion.
“Tyler Dibling has been very impressive for Southampton this season and is attracting a lot of suitors. I think he’d fit in well at Tottenham because they’ve got a young core, but it will be up to them to decide whether he’s good enough for that step up yet.
“He’ll want to be playing regularly as well, which he could do at Spurs. If Southampton are relegated, I expect he’ll be available for a reasonable price because they’re going to be under pressure to raise some money.”

Tottenham will have an advantage over other suitors
There is no doubt that Dibling will attract a lot of interest in the summer from across the Premier League.
However, Tottenham may have an advantage over the other suitors as Postecoglou has demonstrated that he is more than happy to hand opportunities to teenagers.
Tyler Dibling will look at how the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Mikey Moore and others have thrived this season and may feel that a move to Tottenham would be a prudent step for him as he looks to get regular game time at a higher level.
