Tottenham’s former scout, Bryan King, who remains well connected with people who work at Hotspur Way has made a big claim about the club’s plans regarding Heung-min Son as the South Korean’s struggles continue.

Heung-min Son hasn’t got long left on Tottenham contract
The thought of selling Son would have been unthinkable at Tottenham just a few months ago, given that the South Korean is the captain and the face of the club, but things have changed since then.
Not only has he struggled to hit his usual heights this season, but rather surprisingly, Spurs have not offered him a new contract, instead simply taking the option to extend it until 2026.
That means that the 32-year-old enters the final year of his deal in June and it was reported earlier this week that Tottenham will give serious thought to cashing in on their long-serving forward if they get a decent offer.

Mick Brown on the fee Tottenham will want for Heung-min Son
Brown believes that the Spurs captain‘s contract situation would necessitate the club to listen to offers, suggesting that his former employers would demand at least £50m for their captain.
The former Tottenham scout also pointed out the commercial benefits that the club get from having Son, which adds to his value to Spurs.
Brown told Tottenham News: “Son will have a year left on his contract and he is in his early thirties. I think Tottenham would want a minimum of £50million to sell him.
“He brings plenty of value to the club off the pitch, think about how many people travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch him. I’m not sure exactly how many people come every week. However, there always seems to be plenty of people travelling in from South Korea to see Son play.”

Spurs have a big decision to make
Tottenham only have two choices this summer: either hand Son a new contract or cash in on him. They certainly would not want him to run into the final year of their deal.
The forward’s performances from now until the end of the season will be under the microscope, and one certainly would not put it past him to roar back into form.
Son has already sealed his legendary status at Tottenham no matter what happens in the summer, but fans will be desperate to see him lift the Europa League if this indeed proves to be his final season at N17.
