There has been a big update related to Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a new big-money left-winger as we inch closer to the January window.

Antoine Semenyo has a £65m release clause in his Bournemouth contract, and unsurprisingly, the winger looks set to be one of the most hotly contested signings of the January window.

It has been widely reported over recent months that Semenyo is at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist for the upcoming transfer window.

Over recent weeks, some sources have claimed that Liverpool are ahead of Tottenham in the race for Ghanian, while other outlets have stated that Man City are also big fans of the Bournemouth man.

Tottenham are intensifying their interest in Antoine Semenyo

It appears that Spurs are not deterred by the competition for the 25-year-old’s signature and are pushing forward with their pursuit.

This is according to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre, who claim that Tottenham are now intensifying their interest in Semenyo ahead of the January window.

It is revealed that Thomas Frank is extremely keen on adding a left-winger to the Spurs squad and are looking to move ahead of the competition for the Bournemouth man.

The report adds that the Lilywhites are willing to pay Semenyo’s £65m release clause to bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs may not have to worry about competition from London rivals for Semenyo

Sky Sports also names Liverpool and Manchester City as the two other clubs that are keen on Semenyo.

However, the outlet points out that while Arsenal are keeping an eye on the player’s development, the Gunners are well stocked in wide areas, having five players who can play on the left.

Thomas Frank’s men may thus not have to contend with competition from their North London rivals for the Cherries star. However, according to other recent updates, Man United also remain keen on winning the race for Semenyo.
