Tottenham interest in Premier League-winning Liverpool midfielder confirmed

Tottenham Hotspur may not be done adding to their midfield this window despite the arrival of Conor Gallagher.

While speculation over Thomas Frank’s future has dominated the headlines for the past few days, we cannot forget that we are in the middle of the January transfer window.

It is a crucial window for the Lilywhites, who so far have only managed to bring Gallagher through the door.

Over the last week, several sources have reported that Spurs also want to add another creative midfield passer to their ranks this month despite landing the 25-year-old from Atletico Madrid.

Tottenham eyeing move for Liverpool star Curtis Jones

Last week, Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe revealed that the Lilywhites explored a move for Curtis Jones before they decided to push ahead with a move for Gallagher.

Now, The Times reporter Paul Joyce has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Jones, who has found game time hard to come by for Arne Slot’s men this season.

Joyce questioned whether the 25-year-old may feel that the time is right for him to leave the Merseyside club to become a guaranteed starter elsewhere.

He wrote: ‘Is the current midfield ready to push to reclaim the title next season or does it need strengthening? Will Curtis Jones, who had been attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur, feel it is time to be more of a guaranteed starter somewhere?’

Spurs plotting an audacious move for England star

Jones is not the only English centre midfielder the North Londoners are thought to be eyeing.

Reports continue to indicate that Tottenham see Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton as their dream midfield signing.

Some sources suggest that Spurs are ready to break the bank for Wharton, but one has to question whether a move to N17 would be appealing for the 21-year-old, given the Lilywhites’ current state.
