Tottenham interested in signing leading goal scorer

Tottenham became the first ever Premier League team not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window this year, but that doesn’t mean Pochettino won’t want to strengthen come January.

By the time the new year rolls around, Spurs will be hoping to be bedded into their new stadium, well on their way to making it their new home.

Over the past few weeks, Tottenham have been plagued by some nasty first team injuries, with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier, Luke Amos and Vincent Janssen all out.

A number of these may even still be injured come the new year, emphasising the need for new faces around North London.

One player who Spurs can’t afford to pick up an injury is star man Harry Kane, who already has five goals to his name this season.

Beyond Fernando Llorente, Spurs don’t have any other back up for Kane in the forward position, and are said to be interested in signing Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek.

talkSPORT claim Spurs are keen on the £30m star who is the top goal scorer in Serie A so far this season for his club Genoa, with a whopping nine goals.

The likes of Liverpool, Spurs, Barcelona, Man City and Dortmund are said to be tracking him.
