Tottenham issue an official update on Harry Kane’s injury

Tottenham Hotspur have issued an official update on Harry Kane after he sustained a hamstring injury against Southampton on New Years Day.

Spurs lost the match 1-0, as Kane injured himself in the 75th minute stretching to tap home an equaliser that would later be ruled out for offside anyway.

The club have now confirmed that, after assessment on Friday, they can confirm that Kane suffered a tear to his left hamstring.

They added that the medical staff would continue to review the injury, with treatment ongoing.

This is the last thing Jose Mourinho will want to hear, as he doesn’t have an out-and-out senior striker replacement at the club, with 17-year-old Troy Parrott being the next best thing.

The only silver linings to take are that Heung Min Son is back from his three-game suspension and that Kane did not injure his ankle ligaments, a problem that has been reoccurring over the last few seasons for Harry.
