Tottenham keeper signs new contract

Tottenham Hotspur have a wealth of quality goalkeepers in their ranks at the moment, including World Cup winner Hugo Lloris, experienced Premier League shot stopper Michel Vorm, and exciting prodigy Paulo Gazzaniga.

However, Tottenham’s up and coming fourth choice goal keeper is grabbing the headlines today as he pens a new two-year deal at the club.

Young Alfie Whiteman recently appeared on the Spurs bench for games against Brighton, Watford and Huddersfield.

The 20-year-old has been training with the Tottenham first team, amongst Lloris, Vorm and Gazzaniga over the past couple of seasons now as his experience grows.

Alfie started 15 games in all competitions for Tottenham’s development squad last season, and has already started three PL2 games this campaign.

Now signed until 2020, the keeper has yet to make a senior appearance.

However, with Vorm’s contract running out in the summer and Hugo Lloris now at the age of 31, Alfie Whiteman could see his opportunities grow at Tottenham in the coming seasons.
