Tottenham land an incredible £230m jackpot

Tottenham Hotspur may not have spent a single penny over the last 15 months, but fans will be hoping and praying that pattern changes this summer.

With Mousa Dembele leaving in January, and the likes of Michel Vorm and Fernando Llorente potentially leaving in the summer as their contracts run out, Spurs actually have an even smaller squad than the one they started the season with.

However, it looks as if Tottenham will have plenty of money to spend if they so choose, thanks to a superb display in both the Premier League and Champions League this season.

Spurs secured a top-four spot on the last day of the Prem season, while they still have a real chance of scooping the Champions League trophy on June 1.

Thanks to these finishes, Spurs will be awarded a whopping £230.2 million in prize money, appearance fees, and TV money alone.

Football Insider 247 report that Spurs secured £142.3m from the Premier League, and £87.9m so far from their Champions League exploits.

However, fans must remember that these figures do not even include ticket sales, shirt sales, advertisement, sponsorships, and stadium profits.

It was announced last month that Spurs apparently earn £800,000 on food and drink alone per match at the new stadium, for example (Sun).

It has also been reported that Pochettino will be given £100m to spend in the summer on new players (Sun), however, it appears there is a lot more in the bank if Levy chooses to dish it out.

This all comes after Tottenham posted world record football club profits of £113m for the 2017/18 season (Sky Sports).

Spurs Web Opinion:

The profits Spurs are posting this season are staggering, and I would be extremely surprised if a hefty chunk were not reinvested in the squad come the summer. After a two window hiatus from transfers, surely Levy and Pochettino will look to bring in some big players to take Tottenham to the next level. I would love to see them bidding for the likes of Sessegnon, Grealish, Maddison, Ndombele, Ziyech, Van de Beek, etc.
