Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn at home to lower league opposition in the form of Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup after the draw was made moments ago live on ITV 4.
The teams were pulled out of the hat before the final second-round tie between Boreham Wood and St Albans City, with the North Londoners having been allocated ball number 40.
The tie is scheduled to take place between 7 and 10 January 2022, the actual date will be confirmed once matches have been selected for television coverage.
Last season, Jose Mourinho saw his Tottenham side make it to the fifth round of the competition where they lost 5-4 to Everton at Goodison Park after extra time to prolong Tottenham’s wait for FA Cup glory for yet another year.
We last won the competition in 1991 after beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 in the final and are well overdue adding another trophy to our cabinet.
