A host of lower-league clubs across the football pyramid have been battling to secure their name in the hat for the third round of England’s most famous and prestigious cup competition.

Tottenham will be looking to add to their past success in this year’s edition of the competition, having hoisted the iconic trophy on eight separate occasions.

However, Spurs last tasted FA Cup glory in 1991 when Terry Venables’ side beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 at Wembley and haven’t lifted a major trophy since 2008, which has put the pressure on manager Antonio Conte to right the club’s silverware drought.

Conte will be looking to put last season’s disappointment behind them when they went out of the competition at the fifth round stage at the hands of Championship outfit Middlesbrough.

Third-round ties are scheduled to be played across the weekend of Saturday, January 7.
