Tottenham legend announces he has recovered from COVID after ‘a long fight’

Legendary Tottenham midfielder, Osvaldo Ardiles has revealed that he has now fully recovered from COVID-19 after contracting the virus at the start of the year.

Ossie, as he is affectionately known by Spurs fans, is adored by the Tottenham faithful for playing a crucial role in the club’s 1981 FA Cup triumph.

The Argentine spent five years at White Hart Lane during his playing days and has been a supporter of the club ever since.

Ardiles, who is often seen in attendance during home games, was also a close friend of former Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino.

The 68-year-old earlier revealed that he had tested positive for the virus on New Years Day and said that Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup final was the “perfect antidote”.

He has now taken to social media to confirm that he has overcome the virus and thanked his well-wishers for their support over the past months.

We are glad to see you well again, Ossie!
