Tottenham legend claims Harry Kane has held talks over his future with Daniel Levy

Former Spur, Robbie Keane has revealed Tottenham striker Harry Kane has held talks with Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho in regards to his future.

Keane believes Kane has held the ‘conversation’ with the Spurs hierarchy and will remain a Spurs player next season.

The speculation regarding the 26-year-old’s future comes after he refused to rule out a move in an Instagram live interview with Jamie Redknapp over the lockdown period.

However, in conversation with Stadium Astro, Keane said: “He [Kane] has to stay.”

“He is the talisman for the team. He’s the one that people identify to. I believe he will be there next season.”

Keane himself left Spurs in 2008 for Liverpool but rejoined in the next transfer window after not matching the standards he had set for himself at Spurs (Transfermarkt).

“Harry would have, I am sure, had a conversation with Daniel and Jose for next season. I think, from Spurs’ point of view, let’s get this season out of the way and start building for next season. And, of course, Harry Kane will be a part of that,” Keane added.

The Spurs number 10 has struggled with injury this season after tearing his hamstring on New Year’s Day against Southampton (BBC).

Since returning to football since the lockdown period, Kane has netted twice against West Ham and Sheffield United and bagged a brace at Newcastle United yesterday. (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

I am sure Kane has had the chat with the hierarchy at Spurs, given that all we are playing for now is Europa League it will surely make Kane question his future at the club. A striker of his calibre should be fighting for the league and at least in the Champions League every season.
