Graham Roberts believes that the onus is on Tottenham’s Technical Performance Director, Steve Hitchen to deliver this summer.
The upcoming transfer window is shaping up to arguably be the most important one in Tottenham’s recent history, with the squad looking in need of significant strengthening to make up ground on the top sides in the Premier League.
However, Spurs have been one of the worst-hit by the pandemic and there is not expected to be a lot of money to spend this summer.
The North Londoners might be forced to look for cut-price deals as they were last year but they would be hoping they have more success than they did 12 months ago, with many of the new arrivals failing to make the expected impact.
Reports indicate that Hitchen will not only spearhead the club’s recruitment process but will also have a big say on Tottenham’s next managerial appointment.
Roberts believes that it is time for the 44-year-old to prove his worth in the coming months.
The legendary Tottenham defender told Football Fancast: “Steve Hitchen really needs to do his homework on players this year, he really does need to do his homework.”
